Classics for Kids: Handel: “Hornpipe” from Water Music

In this activity, students will learn about and listen to the music of George Friderick Handel’s Water Music. Students will learn about the composition of the music and the history behind the piece.

Music and U.S. Reform History: Stand Up and Sing by Library of Congress

In this lesson plan, students will explore sheet music and analyze issues related to industrialization and reform to answer the essential question, “How does society respond to change?” Students will also have the opportunity to create original lyrics and song covers that reflect the Progressive Era.
